WHO ARE WE?

By we, we mean, "YOU", like you personally. Before we can dive into who Jesus is, we first need to take a second and identify who you are... well, who you are when it comes to the gospel.

Without Jesus, we are all on the same journey of trying to find our identity in a world that keeps changing its mind. We chase approval, hide our broken parts, and hope no one sees the cracks. Scripture says it plain: “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). That’s us. Lost. Drifting. Trying to fill a God-sized void with temporary things.

But this is why we need Him.

Jesus doesn’t just fix us, He gives us an identity. He steps into our mess with the promise, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17). He pulls us out of who we were and calls us into who we were meant to be. In Him, we’re no longer defined by our failures or our past, because “you are God’s masterpiece” (Ephesians 2:10).

Without Jesus—lost.
With Jesus—called, chosen, and ready to shift the culture that once shaped us.

WHAT IS SIN?

Ok, we are getting closer to talking about "who is Jesus", but before we get there, I want to talk about why we all need Him.  We used a word in the above section, that I am sure that you have heard more than once in your lifetime. We hear it at church, from people shouting it at you on street corners, on social media, and so many other places; SIN. We hear it said a lot, but what is it exactly? Give me a few minutes to explain....

Sin is the fracture in humanity—the pull away from God that twists what’s true and drains what’s real. It’s not just what we do, it’s the condition we’re born into. “For all have sinned…” — Romans 3:23. Sin promises freedom but hands out chains. It breaks identity, muddies purpose, and keeps us running in circles we were never meant to die in.

But here’s the hope: sin doesn’t get the last word. “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life…” — Romans 6:23. Jesus stepped into our mess, carried what we couldn’t, and broke what we couldn’t shake.

Sin is real.
Grace is louder.
And this is why we shift culture—because people locked in sin need the Savior who sets them free.

WHO IS JESUS?

Jesus is more than a name we hear in church or a figure painted on stained-glass windows. He’s the most talked-about, misunderstood, and life-altering person in history — and beyond all the noise, He remains exactly who He has always been: the One who changes everything.
“He is the image of the invisible God…” (Colossians 1:15)

Jesus is the Son of God who stepped into our broken world to do what we never could. He lived perfectly (1 Peter 2:22:  “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”) , loved relentlessly (Romans 5:8: But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.), and willingly went to the cross to pay the price for our sin. We owed a debt we couldn’t cover, but He covered it with His own life. And three days later, He rose again, defeating sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:3–4: For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures) and opening the door to real hope, real purpose, and real freedom.

He didn’t just come to save us from something — He came to save us for something. Jesus reshapes our lives (2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!), restores our purpose (Ephesians 2:10: For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.), and calls us into His movement: to carry His love, His truth, and His hope into a world that desperately needs it.

“As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you.” (John 20:21)
This is why we shift culture — because He changed us first.

WHAT NEXT?

Now that you’ve read about who Jesus is, the Son of God who laid down His life and walked out of the grave,  the real question is what you’ll do with that truth. Jesus isn’t just offering information; He’s offering a whole new way to live. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). That means your past doesn’t have to own you, your sin doesn’t get the last word, and your story can literally shift today. The next step isn’t complicated — it’s surrender. Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Are you ready for that kind of life; real, forgiven, rebuilt from the inside out? The steps below will walk you through what it means to give your life to Jesus. This is where everything changes. This is where the shift begins.

CONFESS + BELIEVE

Now that you’ve read the gospel, everything comes down to this moment: Do you believe it? The message of Jesus isn’t just information—it’s an invitation. God stepped into humanity through His Son, Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect and sinless life so that He could give His life in place of ours. He wants you to live with Him forever, but our sin separates us from the holy God who created us. That’s why Jesus came—not to condemn us, but to rescue us. And now you get to decide if you believe that this sacrifice, this love, this invitation… is for you.

Scripture makes it crystal clear: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9. Believing means trusting that Jesus died for your sins, that He rose again in victory, and that His perfect life covers your imperfect one. Confessing means declaring out loud that He is now your Savior and your Lord—the One you’re choosing to follow from this moment on.

If you’re ready to take that step, you can pray something like this:

“Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You lived a perfect life and gave Yourself in my place. I believe You died for my sins and rose again so I could have new life. I know my sin has separated me from You, but today I turn from my old life and choose to follow You. Forgive me, save me, and be Lord of my life. I give You everything. Thank You for loving me first. In Your name, amen.”

If you prayed that—welcome home. Your life just shifted forever.

NOW IT IS YOUR TURN!

You’ve just read the gospel. You’ve just met Jesus—the One who loves you, saves you, and calls you into a new life. That moment isn’t the finish line; it’s the starting point. The same Jesus who changed you wants to work through you. The world around you is hungry for hope, truth, and something real. You carry that now. Don’t sit on it. Don’t hide it. Let the story of what Jesus has done in you become the spark that lights up the people around you.

This is where the SHIFT model becomes your weapon. S—Share your story. H—Help them see the truth. I—Invite them to shift their life. F—Follow up. T—Turn more to follow Jesus. You don’t need a microphone, a stage, or a perfect script. You just need willingness. One conversation. One moment of boldness. One step of faith. God uses ordinary people to make extraordinary impact, and you’re next in line.

So go. Tell someone about the Jesus you just encountered. Let your faith spill into your circles, your city, your culture. Be the one who refuses to blend in and chooses to shift the atmosphere instead. The gospel isn’t meant to stay with you—it’s meant to move through you. This is your moment. Your mission. Your turn to shift the culture.
